How to Triage a Kid With Kawasaki Disease
In some children, there can be myocardial dysfunction where if you're giving that kid a lot of fluids, they can actually develop some signs of early congestive heart failure. So especially the urgency comes up in the children's who are shocking. If you're leaning more towards KD for any reason, then the answer is get that kid upstairs or commit a nurse one to one in your ED,. That usually gets them admitted pretty quickly.
