The Overwhelming Shock of the Last Three Years
I just would not have believed that things would have turned out so well. The fact that this happened in a way that was largely bipartisan, the scale of what we were facing at the beginning of the pandemic is overwhelming shock. Two other surprises: I think we rediscovered how much people hate inflation; when we got near 5%, it seems to be this threshold where everything just really went off the rails.
