Panicked is a good word for this situation because as you may know, people have been panic buying. You see footage on the news of people panic buying toilet roll and pasta. Apparently, these are the two most essential things for us in a crisis eating pasta and then wiping our bums when we pull out that pasta. And apparently it's consuming pasta and then cleaning up the mess that ensues later. It's interesting that toilet roll is a thing that makes us feel okay.
