Egypt's Geopolitics in the Suez Canal
Egypt is trying to maintain security over the Suez Canal area. The only territory they or their affiliates controlled was in Sinai and then the middle of Libya at a certain point until they got driven out by Libyans with assistance from us and the Brits mainly. As part of the Camp David accords, the Egyptians are only allowed certain equipment and personnel in the Sinai but the Israelis have been much more flexible on that because of the ISIS threat.
