Queer Coding or Queer Baiting?
Queer coding and queer baiting can be mistaken for each other. Queer coding has historically been used to explore sexuality where this may not have been allowed otherwise. Queer baiting is only used to draw queer audiences into a piece of media, but it has no intention of actually meaningfully exploring queerness. It's always going to be negative, because the intention is duplicits.
