The Matrix Scenario and the Future of Robotics
We do need to be vigilant and think creatively about constraining these things but it's not necessarily because of the matrix scenario. If we went to war with China I assume China would try to you know mess up as many of our automated systems as we can. And so the question is really if you are a super intelligent that doesn't have a body, and you want to take over the world you need some way to bridge that gap. Most people are not going to want to do it and governments will notice and say hey like we're not going to let this happen etc etc.
