In the early 19 hundreds, hemotology really began to grow as a field. This then led to a resurgeance in transfusion experiments. One of these was performed by surgeon beth vincent on a patient who had hemophelia. The discovery of blood types also helped shed some light on why transfusions failed or were successful. And number four, the addition of anti coagulants like sodium citrate or sodium phosphate, these really helped increase the life of donated blood.
