Daniel's Prophecy
The pattern we see in scripture is a nation that claims to be godly that then turns to idolatry eventually goes into captivity. Daniel's people worshiped the true and living God, but after Solomon's death in 930 B.C., the kingdom split to northern tribes went their way. Now over a hundred years later the two southern tribes have been invaded by Babylon and Daniel is deported as a part of this invasion. And here we are in modern American society with a Judeo-Christian worldview increasingly we have become more pagan than Christian.
