The Importance of Paying Attention to Politics
A lot of people think it's fine if people ignore politics, right? A lot of people, it's just not a problem, right? And in fact, that's sort of like built into the default of many of perhaps most liberal democracies. They need to pay attention in order to avoid contributing to harm and indeed harming other people through contributing to democratic inequality which would harm groups to which people belong. When people ignore politics as a group, they become potentially a threat to democratic regimes stability.
