The Pain of Joy

A lot of people think they don't deserve joy and a lot of people when they start to feel joy it brings up shame or self-criticism. People most often experience joy when they're doing things that are inherently good like progress and growth and helping others. The pursuit of joy is actually a sign a sign of redemption and a path to redemption but it doesn't always feel that way in that moment. It's one of the reasons I love teaching dance it's basically choreography to encourage people to express how much you love it all these ways that we can signal joy if that's not freely available for us our body gets so much from it.
