This chapter explores a newfound feeding behavior called 'treadwater feeding' in Brutus whales, a type of baleen whale. Researchers believe this energy-efficient behavior may have developed as a survival mechanism in response to hypoxic conditions in the Gulf of Thailand, possibly due to pollution, and suggest that it could be socially learned among the whale population.
