i think it stands in part from growing up in a fairly conservative rural townand d then going to much more liberal collegefor undergrad. And that eventually led me to being really interested in why people believed in a moral value of things like sanctity and purity. Do you ever think of your work as having any kind of moral or normative significance in its right? I mean, here's one possibility that could arise. If you're interested in the dynamics of belief, and the way in which beliefs vary across different communities and age groups, for example, that might incline you to maybe a slightly more pluralistic or relativistic view of morality.
