The City Council Overrules Mayor's Vetoes on Housing Vouchers

There is a strong majority of council members who have been and remain committed to banning the inhumane practice of solitary confinement in our jails. Public advocate jimani williams has been rigorously negotiating the bill with various stakeholders especially unions that represent health care workers  and i'm hopeful that we'll be able to reach consensus very soon. The city council just overrode the mayor's vetoes on housing voucher bills as part of his pushback on those bills he called the council out for things related to the fiscal impact.
