The Dangers of Abstraction in Poetry
Alan Ginsburg has this, we listened to a talk he gave at I think Naropa many, many years ago where he talks about the dangers of abstraction in poetry. He says when in doubt like return to your senses, like listen to what it actually is and don't just try to make up something that seems sort of like ornamentally interesting. That'll be an authentic. Well, I think these things really succeed because they're so personal to you, but they felt there's some kind of universality about them.
