Drusus hated Saginas, even more so after the hot temperate heir had actually hit him during one of their frequent arguments. If Drusus did become emperor, Saginas would probably be lucky if he was simply removed from office. The prefect decided to seduce LaVilla in the hopes that she would not only welcome him as her husband, but also that she might help him eliminate Drusus. Once the affair got going, it did not take much for Saginas to convince LaVilla that Drusus was a hindrance to them both. She agreed to secretly administer poison to her unsuspecting husband. It would be years before the truth came out
