The Origins of National Identities
I think for me what keeps coming back it seems that creates kind of a shared identity is shared struggle. I mean at some point you know we were humans were cavemen who just kind of like freely associated with each other because they're right next to each other and they're probably family. So the creation of national identities even before the internet is always based on how you historically overcome these struggles in your territory. What's really extremely messed up about network state book is he cites like manifest destiny which was like the struggle for white people to move across the continent all the way to the west. He will say that's a good thing but that's a very problematic thing.
