"I just didn't have culture shock. I was used to being surrounded by the military," he says. "The only thing I really excelled in throughout my career was humping." He recalls seeing his fellow soldiers, who were so combat focused, nod at machine guns and talk with their hands as if they know what's going on. The Somali-born soldier served two tours of duty in Somalia after returning home.
