The Effect of Gravitational Waves on the Frequency of Neutron Star Pulses

A pulsar is a kind of neutron star that has its magnetic axis as key from its spinning axis. These are spread all over the galaxy right? Yeah that's exactly right and they vary in their frequency. If for example a huge gravitational wave wiggled through the galaxy it would make some of these neutron stars further away from us and other neutron stars closer. This is really similar to the way we think about the expansion of space. You know how the universe itself is expanding. Gravitational waves have same effect they expand or contract space.
