The Negative Effects of Noise on Plants

The noise of a leaf hopper mating call doesn't prompt the same defensive response in your experiment. We still need to find out that this response is common in plants, and also for responses to other kinds of insect noises. Once we've understood how the plants are perceiving those responses, then we hope others can take what we've learned and use them in practical ways to manage pests on plants.
