Jacques Necker and the French Revolutionary War

Jacques necker was the French Prime Minister from 1781 to 1783. He made many enemies during his time in office as he tried to make fundamental changes to french society. Necker's greatest source of friction came after the release of a very famous document, titled the comte rendu. That document was released half way through the american revolutionary war in 17 81. In short, necker was managing to do what all good modern day treasurers trying to avoid doing at all costs - aggrieving powerful interests for minimal fiscal benefit.
