There's certain kinds of professions and social situations that can kind of nudge people either in the compassionate or sociopathic direction. So think about if you go to med school to become a surgeon, right? You actually have to become a bit of a situational sociopath to do surgery at all because most of us have an innate aversion to like cutting into people and messing with their organs. Why did lying develop? Is that an evolutionary tool? Like why is it that some people lie so much that that tells stories constantly?
