The Importance of Racial Capitalism in Philippine History

Racial capitalism is a really powerful lens to think through Philippine history. The term comes out of South African organizers who were organizing against racial apartheid and settler colonialism. It became popularized mainly through Cedric Robinson's work in black Marxism in the 1980s. House slavery is usually kept out of histories of capitalism seen as unmodern or a holdover.
