The Bounty set sail in 1787 to collect breadfruit saplings from the Pacific and bring them to the Caribbean. Captain Cook was enamored with Tahiti's breadfruit so he convinced George the third to introduce it into the British slave colonies. The mutiny on the bounty is one of many big screen versions of that classic pirate tale.
