The Dualist Position on Subjectivity
If you think that this subjective aspect is both real and irreducible to anything purely objective, then I think it's natural to be led to some sort of dualism. There must be something going on in me as a human being that is fundamentally different to what's going on in all these other material objects. And so that's the dualist position, which I think has to kind of sacrifice or go against the unity revealed by natural science.
