The Self Is Inherently Relational

The self is inherently relational yes and I love that. One of the most challenging thing that I had to learn when I applied to college and later on grad school in in the western world is to write the application essay because the application essay is about me. It took it's a huge gap for so-called Vietnamese for me to learn to good and good talk about myself  that way now I can do it but at one point my mother was trying to stop me from talking about her by saying, "I don't want you to say anything bad about your mom" She says we are shaped relationally with all the influences and forces that shape us.
