We've never had a period of such stability and obscene abundance ever before, unless we get it with cold fusion. What we actually need is not these beautiful, airy fairy what's my ine purpose and is its being fulfilled 24 seven? It's expedition behaviour. Expedition behaviour comes out of the national door leadership school, the kind of outward bound tsortof mackenzie, of mountaineering and guiding and e b as they call it. And how well do you hang in the shit? What happens when you're cold and hungry, or it's dark and it's late, or you're on sketchy terrain? And are you pitching shelters, and are you cooking food?
On this episode, we meet with Executive Director of the Flow Genome Project, Jamie Wheal. Jamie discusses the evolutionary importance of music as a coping mechanism, how the United States’ university system fails to prepare students for the crises of the coming decades, and how to find hope in this time of tumult.
