The Main Enzyme Inducer, Valproic Acid, and Lemotrigine

Lemotrigine is a finicky medication because of its interaction with valproic acid. Its metabolism can be induced by other medications and especially during pregnancy or in women on the oral contraceptive pill. If you introduce lemotrigine to somebody who's already on valperic acid, you will effectively double lemot rigine doses.
