Do you think it's a foregone conclusion that china will not eventually become a democrata? I might tring to go all fukiama on you guys here, but don't you still have to put a yet at the end of that sentence? It'll be difficult for the communist party to hold this thing together foreverm. In many ways, the increasingly repressive nature of the system over the past ten to 15 years is in some ways a response to the varied formula that american policy makers had in mind in the late eighties and early nineties when they were crafting this engagement strategy.
