Is There a Culture of Abuse in Kitchens?

The seriousness of the work that happens in science tends to make lab environments very quiet, you know, just like not having a lot of joy and fun. I think most kitchens are pretty also very focused, because you're working on really tight deadlines and there's a lot of pressure. There is cool music sometimes, but a lot of kitchens are also very focus-obsessed. And so there's certainly bad behavior that happens in the lab. Oh, yeah, I mean, I've heard stories of verbal abuse too.
