How to Choose the Right Poems for Your Book

I'm interested in how you went about going back through your books and choosing which ones should be in this particular book. I felt very stymied until I talked to you a little bit beforehand. And you having some ideas about what you wanted to talk about was really helpful because then I got to, there was a poem that I was going to read called Our Family on the Run. But one time I read it at a poetry reading when Cal was there and he like, he didn't like it. He was humbled like, why am I reading this terrible scenario? It just seemed like a cruel, strange thing. So I realized that when you read a poem to people at a
