Habit cues are simply what sets off the event that starts you down the path of your habit. For a cue to work, it has to hit you at the right time. A study performed by wendy wood looked at popcorn habits of movie patrons. By making this small change, participants were forced to think about their actions. Once you start thinking about your actions, the habit can become interrupted.
