The Role of Neoplatonic Methodology in Judaism

Is there a problem of reconciling neoplatonic texts, which often come from a pagan background with the monotheistic revelation of Judaism? The way I think of that has to do with a broader question about what is neop latin methodology. These thinkers do not view scriptural texts as literal, nor do they view neoplatonics metaphysics as literal. So when one opens up this kind of methodological space, the most important texts are not literal and can be used spatiotemporally or historically. That really opens up a deep compatibility for a whole lot of texts.
