The Predictive Power of the Stock Market
The stock market has predicted nine of the last five recessions, but never a recession where it hasn't headed south. The stability in the equity market at this point reflects now the expectation that the worst of the rate hikes are over and earnings growth will be positive not negative. We're pretty close to the peak on the 10 year treasury yield.
