Is RSS Really the Future?

I still remember having a conversation with my wife a long time ago about how I had discovered this thing called RSS readers. She rolled her eyes at that one, but it was fundamentally a good idea. Apps ultimately have to go to some kind of subscription model if you want them to last indefinitely. The social networks stuff or even just the like to Ching as an example, this just reaffirms the idea that in the business world, you talk about companies that sell software as a service.
