How to Manipulate Your Data to Show Hotspots

The default data shader actually does something called EQ hists, which is histogram equalization. It adjusts the histogram of the color map in such a way that the lowest number of subjects went. And then it also kind of demonstrates how to manipulate your color map to show the hotspots.
