How to Use Your Own Blood for Surgery
A&H is another way to use the patient's own blood when the cell saver is not an option. Outside of cardiac surgery, I just don't see it being used that much. The one time where it might be useful is in a cancer surgery like a WIPL. If you have decent IV access, either a large peripheral vein that draws back then A&H can be helpful.
