In the current system, journals are more likely to accept exciting findings. And so if you have positive findings like that, they just wind up being easier to get published. But registered reports actually save effort a because basically, you're probably going to deal with fewer rejections of null findings. So it helps completely eliminate the problem of positive publication by as far as i'm concerned.
