The last we've heard from local officials, they said that whole districts are being shelled incessantly. Marupol is the last remaining ukranian stronghold on that coast of the sea of azov. If or when it's captured, that would open up a very convenient route for the russians to go north. They 'll be able to use the port of marupol and mount an even bigger offensive,. targeting central parts of ukraine and bigger cities like zaparisa. Andd then that opens up a route further to kiev.
