The Speed of Misinformation Spreading on Social Media
misinformation spread further faster and deeper in all categories politic science then true information or at least fact check information. On average it took about six times as long for the truth to reach people than a falsehood to reach let's say 1500 people, says Sander. Science doesn't travel as fast because it doesn't have sometimes what we call these weak ties which they can cut across different topics or different audiences and so misinformation seems to be interlinked with much more stuff that gives it more traction.
