The Slavery of the South

Slavery is a system of torture for compelling labor and outward obedience from enslaved people. Enslavers throughout the colonies terrorized enslaved women and men with rape and its lingering trama. They threatened them with the possibility of physical pain, humiliation, confinement or re assignment to difficult labor. And they also used the chattel principle to threaten tosepar families through sale.
