Exploring Personal Fears and Environmental Horrors

This chapter examines personal fears including deep water, dogs, and needles, discussing how different environments such as deep water, space, and extreme isolation can enhance feelings of horror. By reflecting on the fear of lack of control and uncontrollable supernatural threats, references to 'Pitch Black,' 'House of Leaves,' and 'It Follows' are made to show how the fear of the unknown can be more terrifying than isolated or hostile environments alone.
