The Role of RMR in Metabolic Adaptation

There are some assumptions built into it, but that has kind of been part of my defense against this. It's not a rock solid interpretation. But I think when you really do match someone for their body composition, we know that RMR is not hugely variable from person to person. The studies I've seen, I've seen sometimes the people who are weight reduced when compared to a match group date might have a resting metabolic rate that's two, three, four, five percent lower than the other group. So, again, it's one of those things where it's not necessarily zero in all cases, but it's certainly nothing write home about.
