The Key of David in Revelation 3-7-B
Beale: The author of Revelation sees items of Old Testament stories and narratives as prefiguring something yet to come. He says, Isaiah 22-22 is an Old Testament reference which deserves serious consideration as a typological use in Revelation 3-7-B. So what he's saying here is, we need to compare 1-18 with 3-7 and realize that John is using Isaiah as a foreshadowing of this idea of the keys over death and Hades. It has something to do with being the key of David," Beale said.
