UFO Crash Materials - Are They Really Advanced Technology?

If u f o are really advanced to alien technology, why would they crash or malfunction so much? It seems like we have an awful lot of crashes and malfunctions reported for supposedly advanced technology. I wouldn't anything like the claimed number of crashes from technologically advanced beings capable of flinging themselves between the stars. But i'm still suspicious about the number of crashes that have been reported. Do you know of any things that could explain their being multiple crashes?
