i think i generally go with the path of least tongue resistance, which is to use the long e in both words and say, read receipts. I also think that i flip flop on that depending on my mood or, you know, who i'm talking to,. So i think i'm all over the map. But read receipts, which makes less sense than read receipts, i acknowledge that. And i think it would be a pretty tight race if you sort of surveyed the entire planet about this.
