Can you just elaborate a little bit more on why Utu, the sun God, is so critical for a relationship with underworld spirits? Samuel: He descends at least within the comprehension that the Mesopotamians had of the whole. But he descends into the underworld to essentially hold court within the realm of the dead. It's interesting that we have the solar deity who has these deeply thonic attributes and powers who is petitioned to do many wondrous things.
