The Catholic Church's Position on Soul Sleep

Some Protestants believe that right now, people who have died are just dead and they don't have any experiences until the general resurrection. So this isn't necessarily something that as a Protestant you have to reject. I would say that the church comments on what we cannot accept more than it says what we ought to accept. The Catholic church doesn't necessarily say you have to choose Thomism over Molinism. There are different theories in regarding Soteriology or something else that one can accept and be within the bounds of orthodoxy.
