Branch Stacking in the Labor Party

The way you achieve anything in politics is by winning votes. Some people seek to take a short cut to that process and stack the branch with people they know will vote for them. Often their memberships are paid for by some one else, so they are really, in many cases, just ghost members of a branch - there to make up the numbers. So it's a pretty cynical way to achieve power in a political party.
