Endoscopic Mucosal Resection for High-Grade Dysplasia?
The rate of progression to invasive cancer is lower than originally thought. Tobacco and alcohol are strong risk factors for the squamous type, whereas obesity, GERD, and barots are major risk factors for adenob. This is one of those cancers where PET CT is part of the staging. You're going to be doing an endoscopy with biopsy, and then you're going to stage the patient with a CT chest and abdomen.
