The Quest to Know Oneself
Self knowledge was not just the main interest of classical philo sophy. It was also a priority of the early and mediaeval church. The quest for self knowledge is still relevant to us as members of a university committee. I am tempted to say that if students spend four years under our tutelage and graduate without gaining any self knowledge, they might be entitled to a full refund.
